A very foggy morning from about 08:00 onwards with visibility ranging from 150-600 metres coupled with a 100m cloudbase. Of the six diversions three attempted approaches but pulled out at the last minute without seeing the runway. These diverted from the go-round, the others straight from the hold. Time spent in the hold ranged from ten to thirty minutes. The only arrival coincided with one of the few 600 metre spells. Bristol had similar problems exasperated by failure of the hi-intensity approach lights. (StuC)

I would like to thank Stu Carr for his help with the boards on what has been a day of chaos caused by the foggy weather, it has been interesting if nothing else. Although i am a day off tomorrow i have been "ordered" by the boss to put up a fence and lay 2 ton of chippings so i wont be keeping such a close eye on the "sky hoover" (IanG)
